I Am Ready Swim provides unparalleled aquatic and management services at community pools and commercial facilities. We strive to provide high quality services, to offer great customer care, and to teach aquatic safety in the pools we work with. I Am Ready Swim is also devoted to giving back to the communities and facilities we service as much as possible. I Am Ready Swim is a minority-owned business that services the Austin, Texas metro area.
OUR STORY
I Am Ready Swim was founded by Miranda Melendez when she was 18 years old. Miranda's first job was a swim instructor and lifeguard. She stuck with it throughout high school, discovering her passion for teaching kids water safety and protecting patrons from water accidents.
During Miranda's senior year, her mom suddenly passed away, prompting her to consider just how fast life can be and to what her passions truly were. She knew she wanted time freedom and the ability to build the life she always wanted. She loved working with kids and being in the water, so she continued to teach swim lessons after graduation. Soon after, she was offered the lifeguarding contract at the community pool where she taught for years. She went home to discuss it with her now-husband, and he said, "let's do it." They used their entire savings to start I Am Ready Swim.
Today, I Am Ready Swim employs more than 100 individuals every pool season to work as lifeguards, swim instructors, pool monitors, pool cleaners, and janitorial cleaners at pools and communities all over Austin, Pflugerville, Hutto, Georgetown, Round Rock, Cedar Park, Manor, and Buda.
Miranda loves her team and the property managers they get to work with every year. She is now married to her high school Sweetheart, Dajour, who runs the pool monitors, lifeguards, and pool maintenance team under Ready Up Aquatics.
